Berlin: August 8-9, 2010

After a very nice train trip from Amsterdam (first class is worth the extra 10 euro) I arrived in Berlin. We have a lovely apartment in Wedding (“we” being Phil Skaller, Ayesha Khatun, Carolyn Chen, Ariana Lamon Anderson and myself). We went to Mauerpark and watched environmentally friendly karaoke (pedal powered), shops, food…it is described as a sort of “Woodstock” for this area…very many people hanging out there. I then split off and went to Kreuzberg for a hang and later met up with superstar musician/engineer Roy Carroll for a beer, later joined by the other members of the “commune.” Monday went off to study in Schöneberg, wandered around with Phil, Ayesha and Ariana to some interesting places…later that evening Carolyn and I walked the length of Tiergarten then had a beer in Alexanderplatz…
