In this video I improvise playing flugelhorn with my software, KaiGen-I running inside of Ableton Live. I created KaiGen-I with Max/MSP, a visual programming environment. KaiGen-I is software that improvises along with human musicians and/or itself. In this instance, I made it into a Max for Live plugin that runs inside Ableton Live. KaiGen-I is playing IRCAM’s prepared piano library. You can hear it at times following me, at other times doing its own thing while listening.
